We’ll Provide You With That Winning Smile!
Dr. Plawner has earned and been awarded the prestigious degree of Masters of Implantology by the American Dental Implant Association. Dr. Plawner has studied with and been mentored for over 200 hours by leading experts in the field of implants. "We can now extract a tooth, place an implant, and replace the lost tooth in a single visit!" states Dr. Plawner. "The surgery is minimally invasive, minimizing discomfort, the number of visits, time in the office, and cost!"
Dental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth. Another great benefit of dental implant placement is that bone is preserved, eliminating the inevitable bone loss that will occur with other tooth replacement solutions, such as dentures or permanent bridges
The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months. The first part of the process is to install the dental implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jaw bone. Most often local anaesthesia is quite sufficient. With proper anaesthesia, dental implant placement is absolutely painless. The gum is reflected, the dental implant site prepared and the implant placed. In my experience, implant placement has advanced to the point, that the tooth build up and temporary crown is placed immediately at the time of surgery. Each patient, and each implant needs to be carefully evaluated both pre operatively, and at the time of dental implant surgery, to determine the best course of treatment for that specific situation.. Multiple dental implants can be placed at once if necessary. Frequently , bone and or sinus augmentation is required. Often these additional procedures are completed during the initial dental implant placement surgery, if approproate. As a general dentist in Elizabeth N.J., I take pride in providing painless, efficient results. I combine implant therapy in the minimal amount of appointments possible, thoroughly review medical history, pre-medicate every patient, and see every surgical treatment the next day. My cell phone number is alays provided. Sutures are often resorbable. I decide during procedure, how many and what type of suture that best serves the patient is required.
